Sweet Treats Werewolves Love–Blueberry and Lemon Cheesecake #recipe @KryssieFortune

Author Kryssie Fortune is here today to tell us about sweet treats werewolves lover, including Blueberry and Lemon Cheesecake.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever wondered how to feed a werewolf? Sure, they love fresh meat, preferably raw, but they love cake. Ellie Padget, heroine of my latest book To Wed a Werewolf spent two years baking for the Lykae Army.
Who knew Werewolves had a sweet tooth?
Quote
When Joel took a wife, she’d never expect him to mark her as his mate. He still wanted her smoking hot behind closed doors. Probably not as hot as his little Ellie, but he couldn’t allow himself to think that way. Doomed, damn relationship, remember?
Whatever just happened between them, it was over and done. He didn’t even regret screwing her. Sex with Ellie was primal and savage, a need that burned through his psyche He’d fuck her again in an instant, but his best option was to put some distance between them, fast.
When he married, he’d need a strong woman at his side—one who would watch his back while he watched hers. Let’s face it; Ellie’s weapon of choice is a cheesecake.
For the filling:
150g chopped blueberries
60ml orange juice
2 tbsp caster sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
225g cream cheese, softened
2 free range eggs
100g brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp grated lemon peel
For the base:
150g flour
65g rolled oats
135g Fairtrade brown sugar
75g chopped nuts
120g butter or margarine
Method:
Preheat your oven to 175°C and lightly grease the bottom of a 13” by 9” tin.
1         In a saucepan combine the blueberries, orange juice, 2 tablespoons of sugar and cornstarch; stir until dissolved.
2         Cook over a medium heat stirring until thick and bubbly, then set aside to cool.
3         Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and the nuts in a large bowl.
4         Cut in the butter and mix in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
5         Set aside one cup of the mixture for the topping.
6         Use the remaining crumble mixture as the base for the recipe.
7         Press this firmly into the bottom of your baking tray and cook for ten minutes.
8         Use a blender to combine the cream cheese, eggs, brown sugar, lemon juice, and peel until well mixed.
9         Pour the mixture on top of the baked base. Top with the blueberry mixture.
10       Sprinkle the remaining cup of crumble mixture over the top, then bake in the oven for 20 -25 minutes, until the top has browned.
Blurb
The scars on Ellie Padget’s cheek are a constant reminder of the times she tried to escape from sexual slavery. Two years ago, Joel—alpha in waiting of the Tundra-Tough pack—led the rescue party that freed her. She’s loved him ever since.
Their relationship finally explodes into steaming sex, but he offers to pay her off. She walks away with her head high and her heart shattered. When she learns of a plot to destroy Joel and his pack, her only option is return to his side and warn him.
Joel has to fight to retain the pack that should be his by right, and no one can leave until the pack has a new alpha. He’s horrified when Ellie turns up on the night he’s to meet the woman he’s agreed to marry but never met. She’s stuck there until he claims his birthright. Finally, he realizes Ellie’s his true mate. Now he has to choose between his arranged marriage, and the one woman he truly loves. Will he choose with his head or his heart?
To Mate a Werewolf is a stand alone story within the Scattered Siblings series.
Kryssie, thanks for sharing about your book and thanks to Katie Furlong for the recipe. My, that looks delicious!
I can’t say I’m surprised to learn that werewolves like sweets. I’ve never known a dog who didn’t, and they are canines, too. My mom and dad’s Chihuahua used to raid the strawberry bed in the backyard. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
Halloween was my favorite holiday when I was a kid. I had two favorite outfits: wicked witch or Little Red Riding Hood. I don’t remember if the witch costume was store bought, but I remember that my mom made the red skirt and cape for my Little Red Riding Hood costume. Being practical minded, she sewed the skirt with a gathered waist and deep hem so it could be let out and lengthened as I grew. That way, I got to wear it more than one year. So it’s probably no coincidence that the first two paranormal stories I wrote involved a witch and a werewolf.
Ilona's Wolf coverMy novella, Ilona’s Wolf: A Fairy Tale Romance, was inspired by Little Red Riding Hood and features a runaway princess and a cursed werewolf. It begins with the wolf saving Ilona from a dangerous woodsman.
Princess Ilona is rescued by a wolf that transforms into a handsome, naked man. Cursed by an evil wizard, Rolf was trapped in wolf form until he tasted the blood of a royal. Now he must escort the princess on a hazardous journey to the castle. Passion flares between them, but both know there is no future for a princess and a werewolf. Or is there in a world where magic and passion combine?
Heather Parnell of Marooned is my 18th century hereditary witch. The research was a bit tricky, since witches of the period had to keep their craft in secret. The previous centuries had witnessed massive witch hunts, and many women were drowned, hanged or burned at the stake. Modern witches still refer to the period as the “Burning Times”.
Marooned coverBlurb:
Heather MacGibbon is traveling from England to her home in Jamaica with her new husband, Roger Parnell, a man she detests. She performs a banishing spell with unintended consequences. When their ship is attacked by pirates, Roger is killed, and Heather, disguised as a boy, joins the pirate crew.
Pirate captain Adam Langworth soon discovers Heather is a woman, but agrees to keep her secret, a violation of the ships’ articles. When her identity is discovered, Adam and Heather find themselves marooned on a deserted island with nothing to do for the rest of their lives but make love…
Disclaimer: This is a 12,000 word steamy romantic short story, not a full-length novel. Previously published by Amber Quill Press. Contains a sexy pirate, a naughty witch, cussing and fornicating.
